What is The Ultra Centric Experience?
The Ultra Centric Experience is a unique combination of great athletes, good crews, supportive spectators, and unmatched volunteers. The UltraCentric is an interactive medium for the worlds finest endurance athletes to showcase the results of successful training, and the ordinary athlete to introduce themselves to their possibilities
Are the events Officially Sanctioned?
All events The Ultra Centric Experience provides are officially Sanctioned, by their prospective governing bodies.The Running Events, and Mountain Bike Events are held on two entirely separate certified courses, two independent timing systems, and separate aid stations. The Mountain Bike Events are Sanctioned by U.S.A. Cycling. The Running events are Sanctioned by U.S.A. Track & Field, all event run courses are Certified. All events are professionally timed.
How are the aid stations?
The Running Events, and Mountain Biking Events both have their own, independent aid station.
Both aid stations are staffed for the duration of the events.
Each aid station is clearly denoted by large signage, and designed, and designated for the specific athletes only.
The Mountain Biking Aid Station is for Mountain Biking participants Only.
The Running Aid Station is for Running/Walking participants Only.
For the safety of all participants, please adhere to the specific use policy of the aid stations
What sort of items will The Ultra Centric Experience aid stations stock?
The Ultra Centric Experience provides the most bountiful aid stations around, manned by the most helpful Volunteers.
Both aid stations are operated under a Temporary Health Permit issued by the City of Flower Mound.
Both The Running/Walking aid station, and The Mountain Bike aid station, are well maintained, and supply the same offerings for the duration of all events.
The hot foods offered include; Vegetarian Style Soups, Tomato Soup, Chicken Noodle Soup, Broths (Chicken and Beef), Lasagna, and Pasta’s
Cold food items include; Turkey and Ham Sandwiches, Peanutbutter and Jelly Sandwiches. Fresh Fruits include; Apples, Oranges, Bananas, Cantaloupe.
Salty Snacks offered include; Potato Chips, Corn Chips. For your sweet tooth; Oreo and Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Brownies.
Hot Oatmeal, Hot Water for you and your Crew to prepare your own favorite. Hot Chocolate, Hot Cider, and of course Coffee!
A First class Breakfast for 72, and 48 Hour participants  is offered each morning of The UltraCentric of scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, and sausage! Breakfast served at Sunrise!
All participants enjoy The Burger Buffet on Saturday and of course the famous Champions Brunch on Sunday!

Is Camping Available?
Camping is available in Murrell Park, the site of all The UltraCentric activities. Murrell Park is located 4600 Murrell Park Road, Flower Mound, Texas 75022.
Where is The Ultra Centric Experience Event Parking?
Murrell Park has plenty of parking available in the area.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The entrance gate to Murrell Park is CLOSED to vehicular traffic at 10:00 pm. The gate remains closed until 6:00 am. Please plan accordingly.

Where can I store my stuff during The UltraCentric ?
Two large sheltered pavilions will be available prior to the start of The Ultracentric 72 Hour on Thursday morning the 19th of November, and remain until the completion of The UltraCentric  Champions Awards Breakfast/Brunch. The pavilions will be clearly designated with signage for Participants use. Please provide labels displaying your name for your bags, so volunteers may assist you with your needs during your event. The area is not secure, and you should not leave valuables. Please make arraignments prior to the The UltraCentric for important items as return plane tickets, watches, wallets, and cameras, to be stored else ware.
May I change events prior to the start of The UltraCentric?
Please give careful, prudent consideration to your decision making prior to registration. No changes may be made to your entry once you have completed the Active.com registration process. Your entry is non-refundable. The only option available is completing a second entry, and forfeiting your undesired choice. The beneficiary of The UltraCentric is St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Ten dollars of every participants entry of The UltraCentric Experience is contributed directly to St. Jude Children’s research Hospital. The Mighty Electric St. Jude Band appearance fee is contributed by the band directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. You may contribute from the link on the homepage.
May I wear headphones during my event in The UltraCentric Experience?
Yes, you may use headphones during your run event.
The Ultra Centric Experience USATF Certified 2009 run course proceeds in a “counter-clockwise “ direction, for the duration of all events. The participants “running lane” is traffic free for the duration of all events, monitored by security/traffic professionals of city of Flower Mound Police Dept. The event organizers have maintained the safety of all participants as the highest priority, and do not view the admissibility of headphones as a compromise of safety.

How is Texas weather in November?
You should be prepared for anything, and this means anything. We may experience unseasonable highs near eighty degrees, to snow flurries. The wind is often unpredictable in November, prepare for all possibilities
Are there Medical Checks?
Please review the waiver before entering The UltraCentric. Their are no scheduled medical checks during The UltraCentric. Each participant is solely responsible for his, or, her own well being. A scale is available in the main aid-station. Please monitor your weight throughout The UltraCentric, and maintain adequate hydration. Medical staff may be available to consult with you.
Can my children, or crew members run/walk with me during The UltraCentric?
The UltraCentric rules prohibit pacing. Entrants are not allowed to be paced on the race course during the event. A favorable solution may be for the friend, or family member to enter one of the shorter events. This proposed potential solution would allow a friend, family member, or training partner to be on the .5/mile course at the same time. Please abide by The UltraCentric no pacing rule.
May I volunteer?
We are very glad you asked, and happy to have you. The UltraCentric Experience has many volunteer opportunities, please access the Volunteers Sign-Up from the “Volunteers Needed” button from the home page.
Volunteers must complete the volunteer sign up process to participate in The Ultra Centric Experience as a Volunteer.
Volunteers are treated to  complimentary access to all of Sammy’s Famous Buffets, commemorative mugs, and lots of great fun.
All The Ultra Centric Experience Volunteers receive an UltraCentric Experience long sleeve commemorative 100% polyester running shirt.
All Volunteers are also invited to The Champions Brunch and Awards Ceremony on Sunday morning the 22nd, 9;00-11:00 am, please attend for another special Volunteer award !

Daylight Savings ends November 1, 2009 and is accounted for below.

Please describe The Ultra entric Experience run/walk course.
The run/walk course is USATF Certified, and is a .5 mile paved loop. The loop is completed in a  counter-clockwise direction, for the duration of all events. The asphalt is in great shape.
The course does not have a curb, no pot holes, no cracks, no gravel. The course will be blown with a gas blower prior to the event, to remove the smallest bits of debris.

Please describe The Ultra Centric Experience Mountain Bike Course.
The Mountain Bike course in Murrell Park is described by many as “The Toughest Little Trail in Texas”. Sixteen miles of single track trail with many tight, twisting turns. While there are no significant climbs, or ascends, there are many “up and downs”
that will defiantly wear on you as the hours pass. The course may be challenging for the novice, and a true test of endurance for the experts.
The Ultra Centric Experience is USA Cycling Sanctioned. All USA Cycling Rules, and Regulations apply. Please review all USA Cycling Rules and Regulations prior to registration, to review click here.

Will I receive partial lap credit?
ONLY the 72 Hour, 48 Hour, and the 24 Hour Ultra Runs will receive partial lap credit. If participating in one of these events, and are on the course when the horn sounds on Sunday, 9am, come to a stop.
Remain standing, or sitting on the course to receive partial credit. A measuring wheel manned by an Race Official will record your race number, and partial distance.
How does the timing work?
The UltraCentric Experience is professionally timed by Run-Far Racing. Run-Far  Racing maintains an impeccable reputation for timely, and accurate  world class result. Run-Far Racing has vast experience in Cycling, and Running events. You will be issued a chip prior to the start of your event; worn on your shoe, or around your ankle. Your chip transmits information to an electronic reader. The reader relays the information to several event computers, which record your results.
Your event results are then posted by Race Officials. You must return your chip before you leave The UltraCentric Experience
Will I need a flashlight on the run/walk course?
You may choose to use a flashlight on the run/walk course. You should bring several to be prepared for all scenarios. However, five commercial caliber light generating stations are strategically placed around the .5 mile loop for maximum illumination effect.
The five light stations will be activated prior to sunset, and remain in operation until full sunrise
Why are their separate aid stations for the Runners/Walkers and the Mountain Bikes?
Safety is of paramount concern in The UltraCentric Experience. For the safety of all participants, volunteers, and spectators two separate aid stations sites have been selected, and are manned for the duration of all events by the most supportive volunteers in this Hemisphere.
